Hi, I’m Annamai

I am a qualified and registered integrative counsellor based in Totnes, South Devon, offering face-to-face and online therapy sessions.
My journey with therapy began in my early 20s, when counselling gave me the opportunity to rewrite my “internal script” and shift the way I experienced myself and my circumstances. With the support of my therapist, I gained deeper awareness of who I was and how I responded to relationships and life events.

My Approach
Counselling can be a deeply transformative experience. By gaining a better understanding of ourselves, we open the door to more meaningful and fulfilling relationships with others. I believe that the connections we have with others are the foundation of a fulfilling life.
As a fully trained and qualified integrative counsellor, I draw from a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Gestalt, Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Attachment Theory, and Mindfulness. This flexibility allows me to tailor sessions to meet your individual needs and the unique challenges you wish to explore. I have a particular interest in trauma and trauma recovery, and my practice is trauma-informed.
I am a member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and am committed to continuous professional development, as I believe there is always more to learn. I regularly engage in supervision and adhere to the NCPS code of ethics.
I have experience working with a diverse range of clients from all walks of life. Currently, I work with a charity supporting those bereaved by suicide and also provide counselling within a secondary school, supporting young people aged 11 to 18.
